Nevada TRIP

The Nevada State Department of Education, in partnership with Nevada Vocational Rehabilitation (VR Nevada) and nine other state partners, is thrilled to announce the launch of Nevada TRIP. Short for the Transition Roadmap through Innovative Partnerships, this interactive project is a gamified experience designed to empower students with disabilities as they navigate the road to independence.

What is Nevada TRIP?

Nevada TRIP is a "gamification-style" website and mobile app where students can log in, choose a unique vehicle avatar, and explore a virtual roadmap filled with educational stops. Each stop features engaging videos available in both English and Spanish, helping students and families understand the transition process one mile at a time.

As students progress through their roadmap, they earn achievement badges for their profiles, turning transition planning into an exciting adventure.

Is this for me?

If you are a student aged 10 to 24 with an Individualized Education Program (IEP) or a 504 plan, Nevada TRIP was built specifically for you. The platform is designed to help students, parents, and educators collaborate on:

  • Graduating High School: Exploring different diploma options and planning next steps.

  • Postsecondary Success: Navigating the path to college, trade schools, and financial aid.

  • Meaningful Employment: Learning how VR Nevada helps individuals obtain and keep competitive jobs.

  • Greater Independence: Building daily living and self-advocacy skills.

Choose Your Roadmap

Because every journey is different, Nevada TRIP offers two distinct paths:

  • Under 14 Roadmap: Features 8 stops focused on early planning, eligibility for services, and preparing for the jump to high school.

  • 14 and Over Roadmap: A comprehensive 13-stop journey covering everything from Pre-Employment Transition Services (Pre-ETS) to specialized resources like assistive technology and transportation.
